Shipping an Enterprise AI Platform

IdentifAI was developed as part of Synechron's Nexus AI product suite to showcase AI-driven market intelligence capabilities to clients. I translated complex data into clear, actionable insights, designing a scalable product experience.

The Challenge

The platform needed to aggregate large volumes of AI-driven market intelligence, requiring a clear and structured experience for enterprise clients to explore complex insights with confidence. The challenge was designing an experience that balanced information density, discoverability, and usability, while supporting seamless exploration across multiple insight types and interaction models.

Roadmap

Structuring the Experience

From the outset, IdentifAI was to be an AI-native platform, featuring a dashboard, trend data and node graph experiences to compare technological capabilities to potential clients. My role encompassed mapping the relationship experience between these features across the platform, and so I began by looking at the competitor landscape to identify potential UX opportunities and pitfalls. One reoccurring pain-point was navigating the complexity and density of data, and so the opportunity was identified to use AI to reduce cognitive load and reducing time-to-insight. For which the solution was to add conversational AI and a global AI search functionality, simplifying the user experience through natural language.

Competitor Analysis

Designing the Experience

Once the structure was finalised, I turned my focus to building out the Nexus IdentifAI design system, creating tokens, styles and variables, using this to design iterations for the core experiences of the platform, beginning first with wireframes and developing into high-fi's. My design iterations focused on refining interactions, and page layouts, presenting this to key senior stakeholders, including the Head of Technology, to align the experience and interface design with product and business goals. Then I prepared the Figma file for hand-off and worked closely with developers to oversea QA for deployment.

Outcome & Learnings

With a complex platform project like this, collaboration between design, stakeholders and developers was a significant part of the process for the success of the project. And as a junior designer taking on a big role in the design of this platform, I learnt a lot about the capabilities and limitations of the intersection of design and development and how to make strategic compromises, and designed changes to get the desired outcome we wanted for the usability of the product.
